Firm Description

    Our Labor and Employment Law Group represents management in labor relations and employment litigation. The scope of our practice encompasses the broad spectrum of labor and employment laws including discrimination, harassment, wrongful discharge, wage and hour, leave of absence requirements, drug testing, plant closures, union relations, affirmative action, privacy obligations, proprietary information and safety obligations. Our group undertakes both preventative work to reduce legal claims and aggressive, yet sensible litigation when necessary.

    Simpson, Garrity & Innes combines a zealous advocacy of our clients’ interests with a sensitivity to the costs and benefits associated with a given transaction, whether it be litigation, legal audits, or picketing disputes. Simpson, Garrity & Innes provides uncompromising representation of our clients while preserving lines of communication with attorneys, organized labor and government bodies necessary to problem resolution. SGI maintains a strong record of litigation successes before government administrative agencies, arbitrators and the state and federal courts.

    Our firm has four shareholders: Paul V. Simpson, Ronald F. Garrity, Laura E. Innes, and Marc Jacuzzi - - all recognized within the profession for professionalism and high ethical standards. Martindale Hubbell has acknowledged the law firm of Simpson, Garrity & Innes, including it in the Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, and has bestowed on it the rating of “AV”—the “A” signifying the highest level of legal ability, while the “V” denotes “very high” adherence to professional standards of conduct, ethics, reliability and diligence. We also employ experienced associate attorneys to assist in more complex matters and litigation.

    Simpson, Garrity & Innes has adopted a business model in which we only employ experienced attorneys who are ready to "hit the ground running" for our clients and who can be efficient and productive immediately. At present, every attorney on staff has several years experience in active, full-time practice. However, every associate attorney, no matter at what level of expertise, is assigned to work with a shareholder for direct supervision and strategic decision-making on all projects.

    A tight team approach is the hallmark of our practice. By operation of shareholder/associate cross review, the client is never without the support of an attorney who is familiar with the essential aspects of the case -- while at the same time maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
